Tanner's Nursery

Tanner is almost 9 months old and his room is just now finished. Actually we still need curtains but at the rate we are going it may never happen! Tanner slept in our room for the first 4 1/2 months and we finally moved Hayes to his new room and Tanner to the nursery. I am happy with the way it turned out and I think Tanner loves his new room!

Broken Dreams

And ankles! Since Tanner started crawling and pulling up a month or so ago, he has had big dreams of learning to walk in the next few weeks. All that was shattered yesterday morning. While changing Tanner's diaper, he suddenly decided he didn't want any part of that and did a quick roll and drop off the changing table. I managed to catch him right before he hit the ground and since he landed on his feet we didn't think much about it. By last night though it was apparent something was very wrong. After a long trip to Children's last night we discovered he had fractured his ankle. He is a little fighter though and after only a few hours in his new cast he has already figured out how to crawl and pull up with it. Hopefully it will be off in 4 weeks. Here are some more pictures of him trying to figure out how to get around with his cast.

It's Official...

My baby is growing up! Tanner started crawling within the last 2 weeks and tonight when I went to check on him he was standing in his bed leaning over the crib! I almost had a heart attack. I brought him into the den to play for a little longer and sure enough he is crawling to the furniture and then pulling up. He isn't really interested in crawling--just standing. That makes me really nervous that walking is coming soon. What happened to my baby? Seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. I can't think about it too much or I will cry! Here are a few pics of the little stinker practicing his moves tonight. I hope to get a video tomorrow to post.

Working on standing up...

And success! (He looks pretty proud of himself doesn't he?)

Here are a few more pics from today and tonight

Someone looks like they are up to no good...

Who me? I didn't change the channel, I promise daddy!

On the move

This is my shampoo Tanner

Please don't make me share with him daddy!

Okay I will let you have it...

He's eating the shampoo daddy! I told you I shouldn't have shared with him.

Little Tigers

The boys were pumped all day for the game. Too bad they were asleep before half-time!

I had to bribe Hayes with juice to sit down beside Tanner for the picture. He still wouldn't look at the camera.

Daddy took the boys to Sam's while I was at work. Aren't they cute in the cart together?

Not only did Hayes sleep with his helmet tonight but he also wore it in the tub...

Park and a Picnic, Well Almost...

I really wanted us to do something fun today for Labor Day. We couldn't really think of anything to do and before we knew it, half the day was gone. We finally decided to go to the park after naptime and then have a picnic dinner there. Since these were last minute plans, we didn't have anything to pack for our picnic so the plan was for Joey to leave us at the park and run pick up something. Hayes had a blast playing on the playground and then we found our picnic spot and spread out our blanket. Joey ran to Zaxby's for some chicken. While he was gone Hayes got in an antbed and was covered in antbites. Joey called shortly after that and said Zaxby's was closed so we decided to pack it in and come home. After the heat and the ants we were all done. Tanner was the only one who actually got to eat anything at the park but oh well! We had fun anyway and took plenty of pictures as usual. Here are a few of the boys playing.

Hayes loves to climb, by himself of course!

Made it!

At least someone got to eat!

Goodbye Summer! We'll miss you but we are ready for cooler weather!

Dreaming in Orange and Blue

Hayes wanted to wear his Auburn football helmet tonight and wouldn't take it off when I read to him at bedtime.

I went in his room later to check on him and this is what I found...

Oh yes, he is asleep holding his helmet! Football is in the air!

A Little of Everything

This post is full of random things and pictures. Hayes and I started the summer taking Aquababies at the YMCA. It is a parent/child swim class. Little did I know that Hayes would have no fear of the water and begin jumping off the side of the pool and trying to swim long before we started these classes. Unfortunately he couldn't figure out how to kick and move his arms so he would just float until someone grabbed him and pulled him up. It became difficult for me to take both boys to the pool by myself so we quickly switched over to private swim lessons in hopes Miss Christina could teach him how to at least swim to the side of the pool and hang on. He wasn't sure about being in the pool with someone besides mommy or daddy at first but he adjusted quickly. He had several great lessons but of course I didn't have my camera at any of them. Joey took him to the last 2 lessons. I started working part time at Old Navy on weekends and some nights during the week so I wasn't able to go to the last ones. Hayes is still adjusting to my not being here all the time so he didn't do so well at the last lesson. Joey knew how bad I wanted pictures though so he took some anyway. Apparently Hayes cried the whole time and wouldn't really do anything Miss Christina wanted him to do. Oh well! I think we are done with the pool for this year anyway!

I am antsy for fall and cooler weather so I put Tanner in jeans for the first time yesterday. I thought he looked so cute that of course I took lots of pictures. Here are a few. By the way, for any of you that haven't seen Tanner lately he is now a porcupine. His hair is only growing right on top of his crown and it sticks straight up. It is so funny! You can really tell in these pictures.

Hayes wanted me to read him a book tonight while I was cooking dinner. I asked him to go read it to Tanner until I could sit down with him. He went right to Tanner and tried to show him the pictures. It was so cute! See for yourself...

We all played outside after dinner tonight. Hayes hit golf balls with daddy most of time while Tanner enjoyed the swing. MiGi and Papa gave this swing set to Hayes for his 1st birthday. Papa and Joey worked very hard to put it together for him. He has really enjoyed it. Now Tanner gets to enjoy it too. I sure wish Papa could have seen both of them playing on it. I know he would have loved it!

Hayes' favorite thing to do right now is play with his blocks. He loves to build towers and then knock them down. He is very serious about building and wants them in certain places. He is very bossy if he needs your help! He and daddy built a few towers tonight before bed.

That's all for now. I will be back after football this weekend. War Eagle!!!
