I am neither crafty nor creative and we usually do basic birthday parties around here. But for some reason several months ago I started researching ideas for the girls' first birthday. I came across a Sweet Shoppe party that I fell in love with. So with a combination of that and the fact that these were going to be my last babies that will turn one, they are girls and there are two of them instead of one, I decided to go all out for their party. I had so much fun looking for ideas and making things. But after weeks of sewing ruffled streamers I started thinking I had made a mistake! But after seeing the end result I think it was worth it. It was alot of work but it was exactly what I had hoped for. I did have some help from some good friends. My sweet friend Brittany volunteered to make something. So I told her I had an idea to do giant lollipops to line the sidewalk outside but had no idea how to make them. She got busy and brought me lollipops that were absolutely adorable. Exactly what I had in mind! My friend Jen has only boys so I think she had fun shopping for pink girly things:) She found some great stuff to make party hats and made the cutest party hats you have ever seen! My mom also made a fabulous pink and white marshmallow wreath for the front door. She also came and helped me for the 2 weeks leading up to the party. I could not have done it without her! The party turned out perfect and I'm so glad I did it. (but probably will not ever again :) Happy Birthday sweet loves! Here is their Sweet Shoppe Party!

Super Hayes Turns 4
Hayes wanted a superhero birthday party which was no surprise! We decided to do it at the park and have everyone dress up. It turned out really cute. We did Superhero Training where the kids all had to run through a training course. They ran through ladder rungs, jumped over something, hopped in the Batmobile for a drive and then tossed a bean bag in a bucket. Once they completed training they got a prize. After we ate pizza we searched the park for kryptonite. I had painted some rocks green and hid them around the playground. The superheroes all had bags and searched for the kryptonite so we could save Superman. Mission completed! Then we all had cupcakes and played some more. It was a fun party. Happy Birthday Hayes!

4th of July
We started our celebration a week early with the fireworks at our church. Lucky for us our Sunday school teacher is the one who shoots the fireworks. So our class got a front row seat for the action! We all went early and tailgated and had plenty to eat. The kids played and we had a blast. The fireworks were fantastic! I was worried about how the girls would do with the noise but it didn't bother them at all. Everyone loved them!
Everyone getting ready to go see the fireworks. Tanner just loves taking pictures these days :)

The fireworks were awesome!
The following Saturday we packed up and went to Oak Mountain "beach". It started off a little rocky but we ended up having a great time. Hayes swam all over that lake and the girls floated around and loved it. Tanner wasn't too sure about the lake but he got used to it and had fun.
We spent the 4th living it up in our redneck pool :) and had a ball!
Hayes loves going under with daddy
We had a great time celebrating and we are so thankful for all the men and women who have served our country.
Happy 4th everyone!
