Park and a Picnic, Well Almost...

I really wanted us to do something fun today for Labor Day. We couldn't really think of anything to do and before we knew it, half the day was gone. We finally decided to go to the park after naptime and then have a picnic dinner there. Since these were last minute plans, we didn't have anything to pack for our picnic so the plan was for Joey to leave us at the park and run pick up something. Hayes had a blast playing on the playground and then we found our picnic spot and spread out our blanket. Joey ran to Zaxby's for some chicken. While he was gone Hayes got in an antbed and was covered in antbites. Joey called shortly after that and said Zaxby's was closed so we decided to pack it in and come home. After the heat and the ants we were all done. Tanner was the only one who actually got to eat anything at the park but oh well! We had fun anyway and took plenty of pictures as usual. Here are a few of the boys playing.

Hayes loves to climb, by himself of course!

Made it!

At least someone got to eat!

Goodbye Summer! We'll miss you but we are ready for cooler weather!

Dreaming in Orange and Blue

Hayes wanted to wear his Auburn football helmet tonight and wouldn't take it off when I read to him at bedtime.

I went in his room later to check on him and this is what I found...

Oh yes, he is asleep holding his helmet! Football is in the air!

A Little of Everything

This post is full of random things and pictures. Hayes and I started the summer taking Aquababies at the YMCA. It is a parent/child swim class. Little did I know that Hayes would have no fear of the water and begin jumping off the side of the pool and trying to swim long before we started these classes. Unfortunately he couldn't figure out how to kick and move his arms so he would just float until someone grabbed him and pulled him up. It became difficult for me to take both boys to the pool by myself so we quickly switched over to private swim lessons in hopes Miss Christina could teach him how to at least swim to the side of the pool and hang on. He wasn't sure about being in the pool with someone besides mommy or daddy at first but he adjusted quickly. He had several great lessons but of course I didn't have my camera at any of them. Joey took him to the last 2 lessons. I started working part time at Old Navy on weekends and some nights during the week so I wasn't able to go to the last ones. Hayes is still adjusting to my not being here all the time so he didn't do so well at the last lesson. Joey knew how bad I wanted pictures though so he took some anyway. Apparently Hayes cried the whole time and wouldn't really do anything Miss Christina wanted him to do. Oh well! I think we are done with the pool for this year anyway!

I am antsy for fall and cooler weather so I put Tanner in jeans for the first time yesterday. I thought he looked so cute that of course I took lots of pictures. Here are a few. By the way, for any of you that haven't seen Tanner lately he is now a porcupine. His hair is only growing right on top of his crown and it sticks straight up. It is so funny! You can really tell in these pictures.

Hayes wanted me to read him a book tonight while I was cooking dinner. I asked him to go read it to Tanner until I could sit down with him. He went right to Tanner and tried to show him the pictures. It was so cute! See for yourself...

We all played outside after dinner tonight. Hayes hit golf balls with daddy most of time while Tanner enjoyed the swing. MiGi and Papa gave this swing set to Hayes for his 1st birthday. Papa and Joey worked very hard to put it together for him. He has really enjoyed it. Now Tanner gets to enjoy it too. I sure wish Papa could have seen both of them playing on it. I know he would have loved it!

Hayes' favorite thing to do right now is play with his blocks. He loves to build towers and then knock them down. He is very serious about building and wants them in certain places. He is very bossy if he needs your help! He and daddy built a few towers tonight before bed.

That's all for now. I will be back after football this weekend. War Eagle!!!

Lazy Weekend

The weather was wonderful on Saturday so we decided to take the boys to the park. Normally Hayes likes to run around there but isn't really interested in the playground. Saturday he loved it! He played on the playground for little kids first and then moved on to the one for big kids. He wanted to do everything the other kids were doing. He went down all the slides, climbed the ladder and slid down the pole, hung on the monkey bars, climbed through the tunnels and even climbed the rock wall! Tanner also had fun and got to swing and go down some of the slides with the help of mommy. Unfortunately my camera messed up and most of the pictures didn't come out. Here are a few...

Tanner loved watching his big brother play!

Trying out all the slides...

It was a great day and the cooler weather was fantastic. Sunday morning the boys woke up early and watched cartoons together. Watching them sit side by side and watch tv melted my heart. They love to play together. I am trying to cherish this time before the fighting starts!

What about me?

Tanner has been feeling left out since the last few posts just had pictures of Hayes. So he asked me to take some pictures of him yesterday and today we did a photo shoot in his new room. It isn't finished yet so I will post pics of the nursery when it is completely done. I think he likes it so far!

Hayes Craves Chocolate

I took the boys to Crave today to pick up a friend some chocolates. The nice cashier gave Hayes a small piece of chocolate. When I say small I mean about 2 or 3 bites worth. When we got to the car, half of it was gone. I know this because I asked him for a bite and he would not give me one. Can't blame him for that! I put the boys in their car seats and started for home. I talked on the phone for a few minutes and then turned around to see what Hayes was doing. This is what I saw.....

Needless to say he went straight to the tub! I guess he is going to love sweets just like his mommy!
